EMDR: A Powerful Path to Healing
What is EMDR and How Can It Help?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from trauma, anxiety, grief, and other distressing life experiences. It helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel as emotionally charged or overwhelming.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR does not require you to go into detail about the traumatic event. Instead, we work together to identify the root of what is causing emotional pain or keeping you stuck, and then use bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or audio tones) to help your brain process the memory in a healthier way. Many clients find relief more quickly than they expected, often experiencing noticeable shifts in how they think, feel, and respond to situations that once triggered them.

Does EMDR Work Remotely?
Yes, it does. Remote EMDR is just as effective as in person sessions and is adapted to work seamlessly in a secure, private telehealth setting. During our sessions, I will guide you through the same EMDR protocols using tools that simulate bilateral stimulation, such as visual cues on your screen, gentle self tapping, or auditory tones through headphones. You will be in a familiar, comfortable space, and I will support you every step of the way to ensure you feel safe, grounded, and in control throughout the process.

Many clients appreciate the flexibility and privacy that remote EMDR offers, especially when dealing with emotionally charged material. Whether you are healing from trauma, navigating major life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, remote EMDR can help you move forward with greater clarity, calm, and resilience.
